Prayer against Dignity

Oh Father,please let us exchange a dignified drip of love for an unpredictable and powerful flow of overwhelming love and compassion for the city of Miami.  Let us not be restrained by our own pride.  Forgive us, Your Church, because we have forsaken an undignified love for you, for your creation, and for the lost in exchange for dignity in the eyes of the world.  Instead, please guide us by your Spirit, Lord, and let us be obedient listeners and followers.  May you alone, not us, be dignified in Miami.  May your amazing love and grace overpower the city through us.  Let us not be dammed and controlled by pretensions,prejudice, perceptions, pride or position.  Rather may your Church be unleashed like rivers through the city sweeping into the driest places.  May your Spirit spring forth in Miami and flow out through your Church filling every place with your powerful love - giving buoyancy to the hopeless, swiftness to the stagnant, erosion to stone-hearted, and saturation to the dry.Amen
