Lord - we know that You are most high and sovereign. We lift up those you have placed in a position of authority to help govern our city.  We pray that you would guide the work of their hands, hearts, and minds - that you would give them a fresh burden to promote peace and security in our city, that you would impart your wisdom and discernment for them to exercise justice with a solid foundation in knowing what is right. God, we pray that you would show yourself as the most high and expose and correct anyone who would confuse your position with theirs.  Lord, thank you for your grace and your mercy.  We lift you up as our King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and look forward to the day where you will rule on a new earth and among all men.  Your kingdom come.
