Prayer for Miami Schools

Father,
focus our thoughts and prayers this week on the children of Miami. This week as they start back to school we lift up to you these children and teens. We ask for your Spirit to pour over the schools. Give strength and wisdom to your church - especially the children, teachers, and faculty in the Miami-Dade school system. We pray this so that they might be doers of your word in their daily lives. We pray that your Spirit would move through the schools this year and lives would be changed. Give strength and wisdom to ALL the teachers - all those who have dedicated their lives to shaping future generations. We ask that you would fill them with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control and that they would come to know you in real ways and that your peace and love would flow out through them across the schools. We also ask for your protection over the teachers and students across this city. Guard their hearts, minds, and bodies. Protect our schools and our children from the enemy who would seek to kill and destroy. May your Spirit be alive and present throughout the schools of this city this year. In the authority of the name Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
